. This gift changed my life completely. I can honestly say that without their support I would not be where I am today. The synthesizer they bought me is still with me today, and I have written countless of hours of music on it.

There are so many musical talents out there who go by unnoticed. Perhaps they are not as fortunate as I was to have the support I had when growing up. Times are tough, and musicians always seem to get the short end of the stick. That’s why I want to try to help a little bit by starting this Annual Grant.

The rules:

  • Vocalists and instrumentalists below the age of 21 are eligible to enter.
  • You must record a video of your performance (original or non original work) and state your name, age and country in spoken English. Make sure to mention that the recording is for the Thomas Bergersen Grant. If you wish, tell us something about yourself and your dreams and aspirations. The maximum duration for this initial introduction is 1 minute.
  • The maximum length of your performance is 3 minutes. So the total length of the video cannot be longer than 4 minutes.
Submit on Facebook
  • You must upload the video on your personal facebook profile, set the visibility to PUBLIC (this is very important, or else we won’t be able to see it), and tag Thomas Bergersen’s artist page (www.facebook.com/thomasbergersen) in the description of the video. To doubly ensure that we see your entry, please inbox the link of your video to the Thomas Bergersen artist page on Facebook, along with your full name and country of residence.
  • Deadline for submitting your video is midnight of October 1st 2020, PST. The winner will be announced on the Thomas Bergersen Facebook page by the end of December 2020. We wish you good luck! If you have a friend who is an amazing singer or instrumentalist but just needs a better instrument, microphone or lessons, make sure to let them know about this chance to advance their career.
